La Oficina Senatorial de la Provincia Duarte en coordinación con la Oficina Provincial del Ministerio de Cultura realizó el homenaje “Ellas, Mujeres que dejan Huellas”, donde reconocieron16 mujeres por sus aportes a la sociedad dominicana con una dedicatoria póstuma a doña Violeta Martínez de Ortega y la artista Lucía Taveras.
El homenaje se realizó el sábado 12 de marzo en el anfiteatro del Nordeste de la Universidad Católica Nordestana (UCNE).
“Ellas, Mujeres que dejan huellas, es un esfuerzo de la casa senatorial de la mano del senador Franklin Romero, la dirección provincial de cultura y un conjunto de personas que colabora en el montaje de un gran espectáculo en honor al valor de las mujeres que serán reconocidas”, explicó Miguel (Guelo) Paulino, director provincial de cultura.
La actividad llevó un homenaje póstumo en memoria de doña Violeta Martínez de Ortega y la artista Lucía Taveras quien falleció el pasado 17 de enero en la ciudad de Nueva York.
Paulino explicó que las mujeres homenajeadas son propuestas por diferentes instituciones de la vida social de la provincia Duarte.
